Originally named Griffin Residential, the company was founded in 2000 as a traditional high-street estate agent operating out of Southend-On-Sea. After a successful launch the company expanded, building a large network of offices across the South-East, providing sales, lettings, and property management. However, to ensure Griffin Residential could continue providing the great service it had come to be known for, the difficult decision was made during the financial crisis of 2007/08 to downsize the company and operate from the head office in Westcliff, providing sales and lettings services to the local area.
In 2014, director Nick Neale reevaluated the company's reach and services and decided to try something new. With the continual advancement of technology, the market had evolved and offered new opportunities for homeowners and estate agents alike.
Having learned harsh lessons from the financial crash of 2007/08, Nick saw the potential in creating a purely online, national service. The traditional model of a branch network had proven to be costly and difficult to manage; by contrast, an online approach came with vastly reduced costs, which could be passed on to the customer, who could still continue to benefit from timely, responsive customer service.
In 2016, Griffin-Residential.co.uk was launched, followed two years later by Griffinlettings.com. The early days proved challenging as the company faced stiff competition from national brands. However, as other online agents began to adopt a hybrid approach, Griffin's unique selling point continued to be its focus on an exclusively online service.
In recent years, we have seen the amalgamation of the two websites and a new rebrand with a more modern feel. Having negotiated the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, a new website, Griffin Property Co.,was launched in 2022.
Following two more years of successfully operating as Griffin Property Co., the opportunity arose to purchase the branding and intellectual rights to Emoov.co.uk, previously one of the largest and most innovative online estate agents in the UK. In August 2024, the new site was unveiled.
Emoov is a family business, still owned and operated by director Nick Neale, along with son Jacob and daughter Sophie. With a modern approach and a wealth of experience in the estate agent industry, Nick is looking to drive the business forward, emphasizing excellent customer service and a truly national reach.
Emoov aims to offer a credible, cost-effective alternative to the traditional high-street estate agent. Operating purely online allows the company to pass on reduced costs to its valued customers, allowing them to tailor our service to their individual requirements while remaining on hand to guide them through the process of buying, selling, letting, or renting.
